Saturday Scream Queen:
Sienna Guillory
Sienna Guillory
British actress Sienna Guillory has been working steadily since landing her first big role at the age of 20 on the television series "The Buccaneers" in 1995. Although she has appeared mostly in historical dramas, her starring turn as Jill Valentine in "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" earned her a spot in the hearts of horror fans (even if the overall movie wasn't all that good).
Scheduling conflicts made it impossible for her to appear in "Resident Evil: Armageddon," but she returns to the series with "Resident Evil: Afterlife," which is slated for release next month.

Despite comments made during the production by both star Milla Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson, Sienna Guillory and her Jill Valentine character do NOT appear in "Resident Evil: Afterlife".
ReplyDeleteActually she does...there's a clip after during the end credits...that's where she reappears...
ReplyDeleteMovie sucked ass though so don't waste your money on it.
Oh yeah... I guess that was her in command of the Umbrella Corps troops. I wasn't paying that close attention, because I think think that's a lame sequel set-up.
ReplyDeleteI do disagree with you about "Afterlife," though. I thought it was the best entry in the series since the first one. I reviewed it here: http://terrortitans.blogspot.com/2010/09/resident-evil-afterlife-best-since.html
Lots of input here from Resident Evil 5, so if you liked the game, you'll find the movie annoying, due to the ease of major enemies being dealt with by the characters in the movie, when it was so hard to defeat them in the game! This aside, more of the same from the previous installments, lots of ass-kicking, zombie shooting and turn-off-your brain action; I thought it was watchable and a nice ending setting up a further sequal.
ReplyDeleteI've never played any of the games, so I was unaware of any faithfulness/lack thereof to the original sources. It still felt very much like a video game, though, complete with "boss encounters" and levels and the like.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, maybe I DID play it, years and years ago. Did "Resident Evil" start as an arcade game? Or was that "House of the Dead"? The game had a gun attached and you played some sort of government agents fighting zombies in a big mansion, if memory serves.
Resident Evil started as a home console game for the Playstation back in 1995 (thanks to Capcom). It was the first true horror action video game which I believe created the "Horror Action" genre for video gaming. This spawned a number of "zombie" action themed console games and eventually spun off into arcade games.
ReplyDeleteOhhh... as a resident evil fan, i think Sienna Guillory actually did a pretty good job in portraying Jill Valentine in RE:Apocalypse.
ReplyDeletePersonally i think the RE:Apocalypse is the best of the lot since it is the 1 most closely related to the game with the characters & the setting. It fairly resembles the RE3:Nemesis game albeit without Alice.
I've watched the RE:Afterlife... though the effects are good, but for some reason, the RE fan in me wasn't satisfied with it... im no expert though.
maybe i was just counting on a story with more unpredictable twists & turns... but still it was a pretty good movie..
I think fans of the games have been somewhat disappointed with the latest RE movie.
ReplyDeleteoh my god she is soooooooooo hot!!!!!!!!!!!!! drool drool drool
ReplyDeleteAt least 10,000 other visitors agree with you. (As of this writing, that's roughly how many views this post has gotten from Google searches alone.)
ReplyDeletethat is a pic of Alessandra Ambrosio, not Sienna Guillory
ReplyDeleteI double-checked, and you're absolutely right. Thank you for pointing that out!
ReplyDeleteI've been lying to all those poor Google searchers for the past several weeks... I wish someone had pointed that out earlier. I would have swapped out the picture already. (But, in my defense, they do look alike. :) )
Okay... so THAT is a picture of Sienna Guillory. I hope.
